Deadline Extended for Factory Disclosures for Walmart and Sam’s Suppliers

Recently Walmart Stores sent this message to its supplier base regarding factory disclosure procedures.  Deadlines have been extended for disclosure and ID attachments.  Here are the details:

Earlier this year Walmart instituted a zero tolerance policy for unauthorized subcontracting in our supply chain. As part of that policy we required suppliers to disclose all their facilities by March 1, 2013. We appreciate the hard work and diligence of our suppliers as we have worked together to meet this commitment. As we have worked through this process, it has become clear that more time is needed to meet the disclosure criteria. Therefore, we are extending the deadline to April 15th, 2013 for all suppliers to the U.S., U.K. and Canada for both disclosure and prequalification requirements.  For more information about our zero tolerance policy and the scope of facilities that fall under this policy please go to Retail Link website for registered users.

Suppliers if you have specific questions around the scope of merchandise included for factory disclosure/ID assignment, please contact your Walmart or Sam’s Buyer and following the links in Retail Link on Site Map to “E” and then “Ethical Sourcing Documentation.”
